Yippee! Emma did it finally!

It was a big big relief for both of us. Emma finally completed her 10 weeks basic obedience training course with Waggies & Emma had passed her OT exam with flying colours! (",) The exam started at approx 10am (was given time earlier to do some pratice & self-training). We had a total of 9 dogs on exam today, 4 others did not turned up. The owners all 'drew lots' & their serial numbers runs like this;- Pebble (2), Rocky (3), Jester (4), Emma (6), Cobi (8) & Ody (9).

I was a little paranoid when the first dog started. I was afraid Emma couldn't do her recall properly, just like during the past few days of training. On one hand, i was worried that she would run off again to the opposite direction when called to Come, on the other hand i was afraid she would wander away from me again during off-leash heeling. So while Pebble was doing her exam, i took Emma to the back & did a few heeling & recall with her. Pebble was doing great, her heeling & recall was good. Then it was Rocky's turn - he performed so much better than he was during last week's mock test. I had expected so since Jo was telling me she had been training Rocky hard for the past few days. Their hard work paid off. =) Then came Jester; i watched him in detail & was in discussion with Cat - im pretty sure this little boy will do just as well~ I've been telling Winnie that Ah Ter sure can pass! Jester loves to sprung suprises, how he behaved during the classes/exam is a vast difference from what Winnie told me during her home-training sessions. Jester was heeling pretty well & he could do the recall @ the 2nd try which he couldn't managed to do so at all during past sessions. Im sure Winnie had put in even more effort & im glad that Jester made it!

Finally, it was Emma's turn. I decided to give in my all & just hoped/prayed that Emma can do well. Coz Pat had been telling us that the dogs can sense our anxiety & be unsure, so i tried to be as confident as i can so not to disrupt Emma's performance. I was glad that Emma did not disappoint me & i knew she did her best. She was heeling (on leash & off-leash) well, stand-for examination was alright & her recall was good. She got some points minused when she failed to do 1 automatic-sit during heeling (i forgot & when to correct her which i aren't supposed to - shit!), she broke her position after the stand-for-examination & did not wait for me to finish the command & lastly, she did not sit properly after recall (she did sat awhile but stood up to 'shake shake' just as we were finishing the exams, alamak!) Nevertheless, i was still happy with her performance. Went to the back & was chatting happily with Josephine & Winnie while waiting for the rest to finish. Then something funny happened - it daunted on us that we still have the sit-stay & down-stay exam to complete!! LOL~ The exams had yet to finish & we gals are already "happening" at the back. Muahahaha!! I went back & sat to watch Cobi & Ody doing their exam. They did just as well! We then formed up in a line & did the group sit-stay exam. The schnauzers were all doing well - none of them broke the position. 1 big dog broke his & went over wanting to sniff Emma, almost touching her. Wah, i was sweating hard at this point! I was so worried that Emma would break her position due to distraction! Luckily she didn't. Phew~ Then, it was some heel & automatic-sit exercises before we lined up again for the down-stay exam. Again, the schnauzers was doing just as well & did not break their position. The big dog beside Emma broke his & went to the sit-stay positon all the way though. Hmmm~

Some photos taken during today's exam!

I'm sooooooo glad that is finally over! A huge sigh of relief! I'm proud of my little lady, Emma. She was performing so much better than i had expected & she had managed to score a total of 189/200 points! She came up 1st in position, followed by Pebble in 2nd & Cobi in 3rd. Utterly shocked beyond words. I must say, this is the biggest suprise she had sprung on me, the biggest gift she ever presented me with. (",) I loveeeee Emma to bits. *MuackZz*
Even though Emma often misbehaves when in public/home - she had now proved to me how 'serious' she can be & how she can excel. I'm glad i signed Emma up for the OT Course. Right now, she's a much easier dog to handle (although she still screams.. -_-" LOL), she had learnt to stand-for-examination, sit-stay, down-stay, recall & most importantly, heel on lead & w/o lead. Upon completion of the 10 weeks classes, 'my targets' had been met. And i can feel that our bonding is even closer now. =)

Pebble was on heat (wrapped in pampers). Luckily the heat just started, otherwise she will have to skip the exam till the time she's ready. Rocky was particularly interested in her. Hahaa

Jester & Emma switched cars as I went back home to fetch Ebi before proceeding to Urban Pooch. See how much Ter-Ter loves Aunty Cat. LOL~

After exam & some small discussion, we went off to Urban Pooch for lunch & a mini gathering to celebrate us having to complete the 10 weeks course finally! Hooray!! =)

Emma being the only female in the 'family'. But she seems to be the tallest & the biggest. Did she inherit Ebi's size instead? Or i fed her too much? LOL

Silly Ebi, seeing Ody sitting on the toilet bowl cover for photoshoot. He jumped up & sat as well, his first try almost landed him INTO the bowl when he jumped on the one w/o cover = dunno to laugh or to cry. How silly!

Rocky's such a good boy now after his OT class! He's no longer snapish & doesn't growls when other dogs approach! In fact, he now takes initiative to go linger & play with other dogs! It was really amusing to see how he now runs to Emma the moment we met this morning, as if to greet his jie-jie! AwwwwWw~ Such a dear.

Scottie boy, im sure you will do very well on the next test!! Prove it to ur Mom! Hehee~

Yes the food was pretty good & the dogs could roam around. Buttt, the no. of pet-friendly cafes has been getting lesser & lesser. Sigh. So we prefer to do Potluck outside. Hurhur~

We're going to the beach this Sunday with 26 other schnauzers. Photos will be up asap! Geez.
